Alabama senior Brooke Pancake sunk the Trojans with a clutch four-footer on the 18th to give the Crimson Tide the national championship and force USC women's golf to settle for second.

Despite taking a lead on the back nine, the Women of Troy came up a stroke short, but continued a run of remarkable championship consistency.  Andrea Gaston's team finished in the top five for the seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament.

The team made a very strong run after the first day, but the fact that they led by five strokes on the back nine means the pressure got to them with the title in sight. A nice way of saying some of them choked especially the freshman Chen. Good that they left the 'ruins way behind who were even bigger chokes being ranked #1.
