USC baseball will honor the 1972 national champions at this Saturday's game.  The Trojans finished off a three-peat that season shutting out Arizona 1-0 in the College World Series final.

The team was led by Fred Lynn, who would go on to become the first player ever to win the AL MVP and Rookie of the Year in the same season, but it also featured famed Notre Dame killer Anthony Davis.

40 years later and the baseball program has reached the bottom of the totem pole. Nine losses in a row to put them at 7 - 18 in conference play only ahead of league newcomer Utah. Time to clean house on the coaching staff, and make a real consorted effort to find a winner anywhere in the country. The athletic dept. is so lame that they take the easy way out time after time in hiring quality coaches.
