In conjunction with the NCAA, USC athletics celebrated National Student-Athlete Day to acknowledge the student-athletes with cumulative GPAs of 3.0 or better.
Of the 623 student-athletes, 255 (40.9%) meet or exceed the mark. And, 86 student-athletes sport an exemplary 3.5 cumulative GPA or better.
USC's newest sports are making an early statement in the classroom. Sand Volleyball has a team GPA of 3.26 (the highest among sports in competition), while women's lacrosse debuted a 3.44 with all first semester freshmen.
Women's tennis is excelling on the court as the No. 4 team in the country as well as hitting the books to the tune of a 3.23 GPA.
The qualifying student-athletes were treated to a pancake breakfast this morning. Here are golfers Martin Trainer, Lisa McCloskey and Inah Park enjoying the spoils of their efforts...
