The strength of the No. 5 USC men's swimming and diving team lies in sprinting sophomores Vladimir Morozov and Dimitri Colupaev.  The freestyle pair are tipped to bring home some hardware from this weekend's NCAA Championships in Washington state.

Colupaev-Free-p12.jpgMorozov took the 50y free and 100y free at the Pac-12 Championships becoming the first Trojan to pull off the conference double since 1977.  He is the nation's top seed in the 100y free and ranks fourth in the 50y free.

Colupaev is not far behind his teammate.  The German boasts the NCAA's second best time in the 200y free after winning the race at the Pac-12 Championships the last two years.  He will also compete in the 100y free and the 200y IM.

Both sprinters have set or reset school records this season.  Morozov lowered his own mark in the 100y free to 41.86, while Colupaev inked his name in the Trojan record books with a 1:44.10 in the 200y IM.

The Trojans begin competition Thursday.  Click here for more.
