Team First Guy

WR Brandon Carswell did not snag an invite to the NFL Combine, but as the OC Register's Michael Lev notes, that is hardly a career death sentence.

While Carswell did not open many scouts' eyes with his 40-catch career, he impressed his own coaches with his selfless attitude and all-around play.  After deciding against transferring before his junior year, he received significant playing time in his final two seasons as a possession receiver and outstanding blocker.

"I still have that mentality that I'll go in and do the dirty work," Carswell said. "Hopefully I can show off my pass-catching skills too."

He was also an important leader on a team that became dependent on freshmen receivers to contribute immediately the last two seasons.  Now, Carswell will work to pull off his best Robert Woods and Marqise Lee impression at USC Pro Day on March 7.
