Perry Power

Nick Perry rocketed up NFL draft boards today with a spectacular athletic display at the NFL Combine.

Lane Kiffin memorably said last spring that his defensive ends ran faster 40 times than USC's running backs, but there's no shame in coming up second best to Perry, who clocked in at 4.64 officially (4.50 unofficially), which placed him 3rd among defensive ends.

At 6'3" and a bulked up 271 lbs., Perry's vertical leap and broad jump were also top 10 showings for his position.  Plus, he repped 35 times in the bench press.

Showing size, speed and power, the former Trojan defensive end has made himself a viable candidate to remain a 4-3 DE and shown the versatility to be a 3-4 outside linebacker a la Clay Matthews or DeMarcus Ware.
