Out of the Box

USC baseball jumped out to a perfect start this weekend by sweeping away Jacksonville in the season opening three-game series.  The Trojans were led by their pitching, which did not give up more than three runs in any game.

Senior DH Brandon Garcia, who cranked a pair of homeruns with 4 RBI, and junior infielder Adam Landecker, 5/8 with 4 runs scored, were the hitting heroes.  On the mound, starters Andrew Triggs (6 IP and 2 ER), Ben Mount (6 IP and 1 ER) and Stephen Tarpley (5.2 IP, 2 ER and 9 Ks) set the stage for three wins.
