Olympic Symposium

Our friends at the Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism are hosting a three-day event (February 14-16) to explore the impact on society of the Olympic Games as part of the Institute of Sports, Media & Society's sports and social change speaker series.

Jacques-Rogge_IOC.jpgHeadlining the event, IOC President Jacques Rogge (pictured) will participate in a Q&A with Annenberg's Alan Abrahamson on the state of the games at USC Town & Gown (7 p.m. on February 15).

Also, our own senior women's athletics administrator Donna Heinel will moderate a panel of athletes, including Lashinda Demus (400 meter hurdles world champion), Allyson Felix (2008 Olympic Gold medalist in track and field), Jessica Hardy (50 and 100 meter breaststroke world-record holder) and Trojan alum Ous Mellouli (2008 Olympic Gold Medalist in swimming).  Felix graduated from USC, but did not compete at Troy.

The Annenberg event is loaded with great panels and discussions, so check out their website for more information.
