McGee Sisters Tribute

The halftime show of Sunday's women's basketball crosstown rivalry game at Galen Center will be a sister act.  Women of Troy All-Americans Pam and Paula McGee will see their names and numbers rise to the rafters as a final salute to their accomplished college careers.

McGee-Sisters.jpgThe McGee sisters spurred back-to-back national championships in 1983 and 1984 alongside Cheryl Miller, whose jersey is one of three already retired along with Lisa Leslie and Cynthia Cooper-Dyke.

Pam McGee earned a reputation as a tenacious rebounder, second on USC's all-time list, before going on to win a gold medal at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.  She also has the distinction of being the second overall pick in the 1997 WNBA Draft and then the first WNBA alum to have a son in the NBA, JaVale McGee of the Washington Wizards.

Paula McGee was a dynamic scorer, who made an instant impact by setting the USC freshman scoring record by averaging 20 points per game.  She currently ranks fourth all-time on the career scoring list at Troy.
