USC women's tennis is led by true freshmen Zoe Scandalis and Sabrina Santamaria, but the third member of this year's prized recruiting trio, Gabriella DeSimone, clinched Saturday's upset of No. 5 Cal and earned Pac-12 Player of the Week honors for her efforts. The young Women of Troy have now beaten three ranked teams in their last five matches.
The No. 7 Trojans sit at 9-1 with a lone loss to UCLA. They will get their shot to avenge that defeat in a Thursday rivalry matinee at Marks Stadium (1:30 p.m.).
