Terrell Thomas took part in the New York Giants ticker-tape parade down Manhattan's "Canyon of Heroes" yesterday, but the former Trojan defensive back had a far less fulfilling feeling in his gut than his healthy teammates.
Thomas tore the ACL in his right knee in a preseason game and missed the entire 2011-12 campaign. Now, he is a free agent focused on his rehab and hopefully a return to the Super Bowl champs for another run.
"I hope so," Thomas told the New York Daily News. "And if not, I'm pretty sure another team would think so. All I need is one team to like me. That's all I care about. The conversations are (going) well, but this is a business. It doesn't matter until you put that ink on that paper."
The cornerback, who was coming off a breakout 2010 season, is already back to running and will amp up his rehab in the coming weeks.
"It could be a lot worse for me," he told the Daily News. "My progress is going as well as possible with my knee and I'm a world champion, so life can't get no better right now."
