Offseason Workouts

We are not allowed to cover voluntary offseason football workouts due to NCAA rules.  However, the beat writers are able to attend, so we'll keep an eye out for any good stories that come out of the spring sessions.

Barkley-Presser-Funny-SH.jpgAfter last night's workout on Cromwell Field, QB Matt Barkley spoke with USCFootball.com.  Most interestingly, he said, "I feel like I'm where I need to be.  [I'm] where I should be.  I feel like I had no other choice really."

The junior is enjoying his spring class workload including a social media course, an area at which Barkley is already proficient.  He drew laughs from the national media earlier this week when he tweeted, "Looks like we both do" in response to Oregon head coach Chip Kelly announcing he was staying in Eugene to handle some "unfinished business."

As National Signing Day draws closer, Barkley (photo by Jon SooHoo) is also heavily involved in recruiting the country's elite talent to join him this fall.  "I try to stay as involved as I can because it is my team and it's guys I am going to be playing with," he told Kate Rooney of USCFootball.com.
