USC men's volleyball was ranked No. 1 in the nation wire-to-wire in the 2011 regular season before bowing out in the Final Four.  The 2012 Trojans will start the season below the radar with hopes of ending it in the same promised land.

Bill Ferguson's team is led by senior preseason All-American Tony Ciarelli,  who was second in kills behind National Player of the Year Murphy Troy last season.  Co-captain Steven Shandrick and sophomore libero Henry Cassiday are the other two returning starters.

"Despite what it might appear, we would like to think of it as more of a case of reloading than rebuilding this year," said Ferguson, the 2011 MPSF Coach of the Year after winning National Coach of the Year notice in 2009. "We have every reason to believe we can be among the teams playing in the Galen Center in early May."

The Galen Center will host the Final Four in early May.
