Freshman No. 1 singles Zoe Scandalis did not seem to have any difficulty adjusting to the collegiate spotlight as she dispatched her UC Irvine opponent (6-0, 6-0) in No. 16 USC women's tennis' dual match opening sweep.
Scandalis (pictured) is one of three freshmen plugged right into Richard Gallien's lineup. No. 3 singles Sabrina Santamaria (6-0, 6-3) and No. 5 singles Gabriella DeSimone (6-1, 6-1) were nearly as dominant in their freshmen dual match debuts.
The freshmen trio will be tested this weekend at the ITA Kick-off Weekend in Tempe, AZ.
