USC walk-on LB Augusto Alonso was honored with the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Tom Harmon/Jerry Clark Memorial Scholarship at a luncheon today in Toluca Lake.
Alonso, who was a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship, will pursue his Master's at USC this fall. The $5,000 scholarship is well deserved for a student-athlete who boasted a 3.93 GPA (tops on the team) as a biomedical engineering major.
