USC ended the 2012 season ranked No. 6 in the final AP poll, which is the Trojans' highest finish since 2008 (No. 3).

The program's arrow is pointing up though with prognosticators picking USC as an early favorite for the national championship next season.  On SportsCenter this morning, Matt Millen ranked the Trojans as the No. 1 team in the nation heading into the college football offseason.  ESPN's Robert Smith slotted USC at No. 2.

"Everything you can imagine will be discussed," BCS executive director Bill Hancock said. "Everything from format, who plays who, to where they play, to the business aspect of it ... it's all going to be on the table."

USC has only been invited to the BCS Championship Game twice under the current format.  However, if there had been a plus-one in place, the Trojans could have made the playoffs every year from 2002-2008.
