  • USC attempted 19 more shots than ASU, but the Trojans' typically stingy defense allowed the Sun Devils enough space to make 61% from the field and 7/13 from three.  "We didn't play with the force we needed to tonight," head coach Kevin O'Neill said.  "The thing we have been confident about is our ability to defend and rebound, but that kind of vacated us tonight."
  • ASU head coach Herb Sendek suspended three players from his rotation, including leading scorer Keala King, but the remaining Sun Devils picked up the slack led by Carrick Felix (22 points and 4 blocks) and Trent Lockett (19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists).  "They suspend a couple guys and ban together and just play their best game of the year," O'Neill praised the Sun Devils.  "Their guys stepped up and played great basketball."
  • Arizona is coming to Galen Center on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and then UCLA is next, so the Trojans don't have time to lick their wounds.  Has their confidence suffered in this stretch of seven losses in eight games?  "I really don't know the answer to that," Dewayne Dedmon said.  "We need to bring intensity into Sunday's game and a must-win attitude."
And 1...

  • Dedmon was a factor on the offensive glass (5 offensive rebounds), especially in the second half, but he injured his left leg on a putback and removed himself from the game.  He said that the leg "locked up" on him.
