USC baseball pitching guru Tom House announced his retirement from coaching today, which will take effect at the end of this week as the season comes to a close.
"This was the most rewarding coaching experience of my career," said
House. "I was trying in a small way to do for these kids what Rod
Dedeaux did for me here. It was extremely fulfilling."

House pitched for Rod Dedeaux and the Trojans in 1967 before a major league career. He would go on to earn acclaim as the pitching coach for the Astros, Rangers and Padres.
House returned to Troy four seasons ago. Now, he will focus his attention on the Rod Dedeaux Research for Baseball Institute and advise the program from a life skills perspective.
