The #3 USC men's tennis team outdueled UCLA in a classic Westwood battle to finish off an undefeated Pac-10 season as conference champions.
Steve Johnson, the #1 player in the nation, set the tone by dusting the Bruins' best Daniel Kosakowski (6-4, 6-1) to go along with singles' points from Ray Sarmiento and Emilio Gomez.
The doubles' point turned out to be the difference in USC's 4-3 win.
"It was all that this rivalry is and should be," USC head coach Peter Smith said. "It was an incredible atmosphere with a conference championship on the line. To have our two freshmen come through says a lot about who they are as competitors."
