USC baseball enjoyed a successful weekend series win over the #11 Stanford Cardinal behind sterling pitching performances from Austin Wood and Logan Odom.
On Saturday, Wood powered through Stanford's lineup, while striking out a career-high eight, en route to a 3-1 win. The junior flamethrower allowed just one unearned run over eight innings.
In Sunday's rubber match, Odom carried the day with seven scoreless frames, including a career best eight K's of his own, as the Trojans won 6-2. The senior picked up his team-leading third win in the process.
Frank Cruz's squad improved to 4-5 in conference play with the Oregon Ducks coming to town for a three-game series at Dedeaux Field this weekend. But first, the Trojans will travel to Pepperdine for a Tuesday showdown with the Waves.
