Hoops Help: Greg Allen

Sweet shooting guard Greg Allen from Navarro College (Texas) was added to the USC basketball incoming recruiting class today, which is the first day of the spring signing period.

GregAllen.jpgThe 6'3" transfer will have two years of eligibility remaining and is expected to contribute immediately as a shooter and defender.

"We are excited to have Greg join our program," head coach Kevin O'Neill said.  "He has the ability to shoot the ball and defend the opposition's best player.  He's a great kid with an amazing work ethic and we are excited about him becoming a Trojan."

Allen prepped at Eureka High School before playing two seasons at Navarro, where he averaged 11 points per game as sophomore, while shooting 40% from three-point territory.

He joins a loaded 2011 class featuring incoming freshmen Alexis Moore and Byron Wesley plus transfers Dewayne Dedmon, Aaron Fuller and James Blasczyk.

Here's a look at Allen's pure stroke, which will help the Trojans fill the role vacated by Donte Smith...

How sweet can his stroke be averaging only 11 pts. per game if an outside threat from 3 pt. range playing at a JC? According to his stats he made 3 out of 8 from long distance with one two pt basket on avg. per game. Tell me who else recruited him to give some indication his worth as a Div.1 prospect.

This article is very good. I'd like it.
