With the regular season in the books, the USC women's basketball team is still in prime position to be considered for an NCAA at-large berth depending on how they progress at this week's Pac-10 tournament.
Here's what the selection committee will take into consideration:
Record: 18-11 (10-8 in conference)
RPI Ranking: 39
Strength of Schedule: 15th toughest in the nation
Quality Wins (RPI): Gonzaga (46) and Georgia (34).
Bad Losses (RPI): None. All losses to top 100 teams.
Bracketology: #12 seed (Last four in as of today)
Root Against: Fellow bubblers LSU, Texas, Michigan, Duquesne, TCU, Boston College and Dayton.
Work to do...
#5 USC must beat #8 Washington State at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Galen Center in the first round. If the Women of Troy defeat the Cougars, they'll likely face a virtual play-in game against #4 Arizona on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. also at Galen.
