While Michael Cooper is the face of the USC women's basketball program now, scoring guard Cynthia Cooper was a star back in the championship years.
Now, she is being honored as the third women's hoops jersey to be retired at Galen Center.
At USC's final home game this Sunday, March 6, Cooper-Dyke will see her number raised to the rafters during a halftime ceremony, while the current Trojans make their final push towards an NCAA tournament berth and honor seniors Kari LaPlante and Michelle Franco.
Cynthia Cooper won championships at Troy in 1983 and 1984 and then went on to be the WNBA's first superstar, which landed her in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Her #44 will hang next to fellow legends Cheryl Miller and Lisa Leslie.
Meanwhile, the current Women of Troy desperately need two wins this weekend, as they host Washington State tonight at 7 p.m. and Washington Sunday at 12:30 p.m., if they are going to secure an NCAA at-large bid.
As it stands, Michael Cooper's squad sits at 16-11 overall and 8-8 in conference, but they have a healthy 31 RPI thanks to their strong schedule.
Senior center Kari LaPlante will say goodbye to Galen Sunday.
