Men's Hoops Tourney Resume

USC head coach Kevin O'Neill said it would be "a waste of time" guessing where the Trojans sit on the precarious NCAA tournament bubble, tweeted's Diamond Leung.

With two days until their Noon showdown against Cal, we have nothing but time to break down USC's chances.

Record: 18-13 (10-8 in conference)

RPI Ranking: 69

Strength of Schedule: 50

Quality Wins (RPI): Texas (14), @Tennessee (35), UCLA (34), Arizona (17) and @Washington (47)

Bad Losses (RPI): @TCU (207), @Oregon St. (231) and Bradley (232)

Bracketology: "First four out"

Root Against:  Fellow bubblers Michigan St., Boston College, Virginia Tech, Colorado, Alabama and Georgia.

Work to do...

The Trojans would benefit from an upset-free Championship Week, but they always control their own destiny at STAPLES this weekend.

On Thursday at Noon (click for tickets!), #4 USC will play #5 Cal in a must-win game.  If they do beat the Bears, the Trojans will likely square off with Arizona again in a classic semifinal.

If the Trojans make Saturday's final, they should be assured a bid win or lose.
