USC baseball had their annual alumni game Sunday to get the 2011 season started right.

It was a special day as new head coach Frank Cruz took the helm and welcomed back Mike Gillespie, who won a national championship with USC as a player and a coach.

The road to Omaha begins Friday night at Dedeaux Field as the Trojans will take on Missouri (6 p.m.) as part of the USC tournament also featuring Cal Poly and North Carolina.

Gillespie had the scoreboard dedicated in his honor.  (All photos by Dan Avila)
