Schedule Scouting

As we all know, the Trojans are banned from bowling this year, so you can spend your holiday college football season scouting next season's opponents.

USC's 2011 foes combined to go 83-61 this season and 7 of the 12 are headed for postseason play.  In comparison, the Trojans' 2010 opponents went 82-75 (13 games instead of 12 next year), so the schedule should be more difficult next season.

Here is next year's schedule with this year's records and bowl dates:

9/3 - vs. Minnesota (3-9) - Hired new head coach Jerry Kill, formerly at Northern Illinois

9/10 - vs. Utah (10-2) - Vegas Bowl vs. Boise St. on 12/22

9/17 - vs. Syracuse (7-5) - Pinstripe Bowl vs. Kansas St. on 12/30

9/24 - at Arizona State (6-6) - Beat two FBS teams, so not eligible for a bowl

10/1 - vs. Arizona (7-5) - Alamo Bowl vs. Oklahoma State on 12/29

10/13 - at Cal (5-7) - Playing home games at AT&T Park next season

10/22 - at Notre Dame (7-5) - Sun Bowl vs. Miami (FL) on 12/31

10/29 - vs. Stanford (11-1) - Orange Bowl vs. Virginia Tech on 1/3

11/5 - at Colorado (5-7) - Hired new head coach Jon Embree, a Buffaloes alum

11/12 - vs. Washington (6-6) - Holiday Bowl vs. Nebraska on 12/30

11/19 - at Oregon (12-0) - BCS Championship Game vs. Auburn on 1/10

11/26 - vs. UCLA (4-8) - Evaluating coaching staff...

The early season showdown with Utah will test the Trojans in 2011.
