Haden on NCAA Appeal

Athletic director Pat Haden told the Los Angeles Times today that USC's NCAA appeal hearing will be January 22 in Indianapolis.

Here is a preview of what he said:

"We will be going to Indianapolis at the end of January for our appeal with the NCAA.  We are going to talk about why we believe we should not be penalized as harshly.

"I am not terribly optimistic that we are going to win the appeal.  If you look at it statistically, about 10% of appeals win.

"Having said that, we feel like we have some very good points to make.  We are going to put our best foot forward and hope for the best, but we probably will not know for quite some time after that."

Here's how I would go about the appeal. Step 1: Exhibit A: Ohio State. Exhibit B: Cam Newton. Step 2: Lawsuit.
Step 3: Win.

Please USC, sue the NCAA. The NCAA afforded USC no due process, which is illegal in CA.

The NCAA should have been more expedient if USC did something wrong. Five year later, 10 scholarships per year, 2 years of bowl ineligibility?? Let's not punish the kids for the sins of their parents.
