As the women's volleyball team gears up for their postseason run starting Friday night at the Galen Center at 7 p.m., the conference named three Trojans to the All-Pac-10 1st team.

Alex Jupiter.jpgOf course, superstar Alex Jupiter (right) led the way, but she was joined by teammates Lauren Williams, a middle blocker, and freshman outside hitter Falyn Fonoimoana.

While the Women of Troy carry the #6 seed into this year's tournament, the future is even brighter.  Jupiter and Williams are juniors, while Fonoimoana was named the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year, the fifth player in USC history to take the honor.

And, the Trojans had three players make the All-Freshman Team.  Fonoimoana was joined by fellow neophytes Alexis Olgard and libero Natalie Hagglund.

Also, junior setter Kendall Bateman was named All-Pac-10 honorable mention and Sara Shaw was All-Freshman honorable mention.

This is the first time since 2005 that USC has placed three players on the All-Pac-10 team.

Mick Haley's squad will start their postseason run against New Mexico Friday with a likely Saturday evening encounter also at the Galen Center.

They are on course to face Stanford in the final eight.  The Cardinal are led by Pac-10 Player of the Year Alix Klineman.
