Re: Oregon game
USC got beat by a very good high school team. When was the last time you saw a division I QB play both sides of ball? And special teams? Uhhh.. the Oregon game.
USC lost because USC was forced to play Oregon's game. Position by position, USC has the FAR superior players/athletes. Oregon is small, but quick. On offense the "no huddle" gave Oregon an advantage- look at the USC personnel on the field, they're gonna be there for the next set of downs, tailor the offensive appropriately.
So how does USC beat Oregon next year? Well 1) pray that their defense is so week that SC can score 60+ points, hold the Ducks to their usual 55 points, or, 2) recruite a few "great athletes" that can play Oregon's game. Specialists for just that type of "high school" offense that Oregon runs..
