Can't thank you enough for this blog and the wealth of information it provides. I find myself checking it several times a day and am almost always pleased by what I find. However, the recent Jock Rally videos are upsetting. A high point of the rallies is to be able to see and hear the Greatest Marching Band in the History of the Universe. To me, it verges on criminal behavior to replace the sounds of the USC Band with ???
While your creative talents are appreciated, please leave USC fans with the sound we love to hear ... that of The Greatest Marching Band in the History of the Universe.

As a former player at USC i was looking forward to playing the video - why wouldn't you let the band play? Coach O is an amazing speaker and you didn't play but a little of him? this could have been much better - whoever decided on what to include has no idea about the history of The Jock Rally or The Band

As a former Song Girl myself, I agree with the comments above written by Mr. Brad Leggett. I too look forward to this most sacred and traditional event of "Jock Rallies" on the Friday afternoon before home games and hearing the sound of the GREATEST BAND IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE... "THE SPIRIT OF TROY"!
I do LOVE THE VIDEO.. However, and please forgive me here... but WHAT IS WITH THE "RAP CRAP" back ground track edited in so loudly that the sound of our actual band is drown out?? SERIOUSLY????? What about "TUSK?" WHAT ABOUT "CARRY ON", where the horn section comes forward and literally brings tears to your eyes...
THESE JOCK RALLIES, OUR BAND, THIS TRADITION, which began in the "Old Gym" decades ago should be SEEN & APPRECIATED, UNEDITED & IN FULL! From the Band sometimes dressing in Costume and "mocking" the rivals Fight Song, to the Song Girls dancing with the players, to Dr. Arthur C Bartner (The Greatest Band Director the world over) leading, calling and directing the tunes.. to the Senior Captain Football Player climbing up on the ladder with the Sword in hand and leading the band himself.. PLEASE, I BEG YOU...LET US SEE THE ENTIRE SHOW! LET US HEAR THE GREATEST BAND IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE(Without the Sir Mix-A-Lot background track)
I apologize if I am a little dramatic in my post.. but, when the Band, the Cheerleaders AND the Football Team all come together for this sacred and long standing TRADITION... it is TRULY SOMETHING SPECIAL!! Please, don't edit Perfection.
