The NCAA Committee on Infractions has agreed to allow the USC football team to compete in the football game scheduled for Thursday, September 2 against the University of Hawaii. The committee granted the measure as a one-year exception to the "12 games only" imposition of penalties announced recently in response to rules violations.
The committee agreed to postpone a ban on a 13th game until the 2011 USC football season.
USC's Senior Vice President for Administration, Todd Dickey, said: "We want to thank the Committee for granting this relief; it recognizes the serious financial impacts game cancellation would have had to the University and State of Hawaii as well as the fans and supporters of USC who have already made travel arrangements."

Is Todd McNair still on the payroll????
It is interesting to note that Larry Scott intends to split the conference into two divisions as early as the 2011 season. If so USC can possibly get a 13th game in any way with a conference championship game. I don't think that would count towards the 12 game limit as it is not scheduled and conference mandated.
In 2013 when the Trojans again travel to Hawaii, can a 13th game be added to the schedule?
