Former USC women's rower Robin Hextrum served as the research assistant on a just-released exhaustive study co-authored by USC professor Michael Messner about the media's coverage of women's athletics.
Titled "Gender in Televised Sports," the report tracked the lack of progress in the coverage of women's sports on television news and highlights shows. You can read the entire report here.
Hextrum, you might remember, not only was an outstanding rower at USC, but an incredibly talented artist. While at USC, her work was exhibited at the annual ARTLETICS exhibition at the Galen Center and even at an NCAA exhibition in Washington, D.C.
