Former USC All-American fullback Sam "Bam" Cunningham has been named to the 14-member 2010 class of the College Football Hall of Fame.
He will be inducted on Dec. 7 in New York City and then enshrined in the summer of 2011 in ceremonies in South Bend, Ind.
Cunningham, whose performance in USC's win at Alabama in 1970 helped integrate Southern football and whose 4-touchdown outing in the 1973 Rose Bowl earned him Player of the Game honors, was a member of USC's 1972 national championship team.

Boo on Mike Garrett for not getting USC and Alabama together to play on the 40th anniversary of the USC v. Alabama game which is this September. It would have been a great opportunity celebrate both USC and Alabama as original football powerhouses and what that game meant for college football. It could have been a really fun game since both team have doing well and won championships the past decade. We could have even brought back former USC and Alabama greats as captains for the game and had Sam Cunningham do the coin toss. Here’s to hoping that we can maybe get this game for the 50th anniversary. I know USC fans and Alabama fans who would love to see this game.
