And just like that, spring football practice is over.
After five well-paced weeks of drills, in which Lane Kiffin and his coaches got an up-close look at his 2010 Trojans (minus the incoming recruits), things are dramatically quieter around the Heritage Hall football offices today.
Not only are spring drills finished, but the players are now focusing on the start of finals, which begin at USC on Wednesday.
And the assistant coaches are all on the road for the all-important spring recruiting period. Some of them might not return to Heritage Hall for the entire month. Each coach went armed with a care packet (actually, a large plastic bin) of supplies and resource material prepared for them by director of player personnel Scott Thompson.
Only Kiffin remains behind, per an NCAA rule that prohibits collegiate head football coaches from going on the road to recruit at this time of year.
The only real activity on the football side of Heritage Hall is happening in the coaches' war room. Floor-to-ceiling white erase boards are being installed on all the walls, giving the coaches more room to write down in grease pen the game plans, plays and recruiting lists that they are constantly revising.

When does practice start for the summer? Thanks for the great continuous job!
