Coliseum upgrades

When USC and the Los Angeles Coliseum Commission signed a 25-year lease in 2008, a number of phased-in improvements were part of the agreement.

There already have been upgrades the past two years to the sound and lighting systems and the video and score boards in the peristyle end.  A new press box elevator was installed.  The rim of the stadium was painted in cardinal.  The ticket booths on the south side of the facility were removed to improve foot-traffic flow.  More concession stands were added to the west end of the stadium.

The Coliseum is undergoing more improvements this summer.  The exterior fence line is being adjusted for crowd flow, access and security reasons.  A video board is being installed on the west side of the press box for viewing by fans sitting in that area whose sightlines to the peristyle-end video board are restricted.  A concession area is being added to the east end of the facility and some restroom modifications are being made.

Additional improvements will be made in successive years, all for the benefit and comfort of fans who come to the historic Coliseum.
