Tailback Joe McKnight is headed to the Big Apple. The New York Jets selected him in the fourth round (112th pick overall).
He'll be reunited with former Trojan quarterback Mark Sanchez. Chauncey Washington, another one-time USC tailback, is also on the Jets roster. Two ex-USC star defensive backs--Mark Carrier and Dennis Thurman--are on the Jets coaching staff.
McKnight, who declared for the NFL draft as a junior, becomes the sixth Trojan to be selected this year. He joins Taylor Mays (49ers), Charles Brown (Saints), Damian Williams (Titans), Kevin Thomas (Colts) and Everson Griffen (Vikings).
USC is creeping up on Notre Dame for the school with the most all-time NFL draftees. USC now has 463 picks in its history, one behind the leader Irish's 464. Stay tuned; there are still three-and-a-half rounds to go and lots of Trojans still available.
