- Head coach Lane Kiffin called for an improvement in the run game after last weekend's scrimmage and just before the start of today's game. Tailback Allen Bradford responded early with two touchdown runs of 30-plus yards.
- David Ausberry had several targets as he moved back to the wide receiver position with Ronald Johnson's injury creating a shortage in the depth chart. He managed to bring in a nice touchdown pass from Mitch Mustain in the first half of the scrimmage to highlight his busy day.
- Neither quarterback turned the ball over and Mitch Mustain threw for two touchdowns as he bounced back from his scoreless scrimmage last weekend.
- The defensive line continued to impress by pressuring the quarterbacks and contributing several tackles for loss.
