During Thursday's practice under yet another warm, cloudless sky, the Trojans responded well to head coach Lane Kiffin's demand for a higher level of intensity. Some brief notes through the eyes of the RipsIt Blog...
- With the defensive effort dominating the previous two practices, the offense stole the spotlight today with several long completions by Matt Barkley and Mitch Mustain and a smattering of quality runs by tailbacks Curtis McNeal, Marc Tyler, Allen Bradford and CJ Gable.
- The team continued to devote significant practice time to special teams drills, again running a punt protection exercise and a highly competitive three-on-one return coverage drill that incorporated the flag teams.
- Stanley Havili returned to practice and looked active while running and catching passes.
- Ronald Johnson's speed continues to be a major asset to the USC offense. The senior wide receiver showed that he could beat his defenders deep as well as across the field.
