Thoughts from Thursday's practice, through the eyes of USCRipsIt...

- USC's second practice of the spring was chock full of highlight plays, as the Trojans sped through a no-pads workout on a chilly afternoon on Howard Jones Field. On the final play of the high-energy practice, Matt Barkley connected with wideout De'Von Flournoy on a pretty fade route in the end zone. Even with the bevy of primetime plays, Coach Lane Kiffin pressed for more from his team. "The effort's there, now we have to focus on the little things," Kiffin told his players afterward.

- Kiffin called wideout Ronald Johnson the MVP of the first two days of Spring Practice, as he produced a couple more big-time catches on Thursday. His highlight of the day came during 7-on-7 drills when he soared up and yanked the pass away from a pursuing cornerback for a long catch. He followed that up with a one-handed grab while streaking over the middle during team period.

- Center Kristofer O'Dowd suffered a knee injury during a rushing-focused period, though Kiffin did not have specifics on the injury. "Obviously we know it's his knee, but we don't know anymore than that," he said.

- Defensive lineman DaJohn Harris turned in the play of the team period when he batted a pass up at the line, ran under it for the interception and rumbled upfield for a surprisingly agile return.

- During team run period, tailback Allen Bradford produced a long shifty run that included a vicious stiff arm, putting the defensive back on the ground and inciting a near riot from his jubilant offensive teammates.

- Center Michael Reardon injured his neck in an ATV accident over the weekend and could be out "for a while," Kiffin said. Reardon watched practice with a neck brace on.

- Offensive lineman Zack Heberer sat out with an ankle injury suffered in Tuesday's practice.

- Longtime Fresno State head coach Pat Hill attended the workout.

- Alumni Jeff Byers, Charles Brown and Everson Griffen were in attendance.

- The Trojans' next practice will be a full-pads affair on Saturday at 11 a.m.
