A busy off-day

There's no spring football practice today at USC, so you might expect the football office to be quiet.

But there is actually a lot of activity going on.  Players are popping in to talk to the coaches, take care of administrative items or watch some video.  As for the coaches, they are mostly spending time in the staff meeting room on the north wing of Heritage Hall's second floor working on several things:

- They are preparing for tomorrow's 4 p.m. practice.

- They are polishing up on their upcoming recruiting work.

- And they are spending time discussing this week's NFL Draft, which begins with Thursday's first round.  In fact, the coaches are holding their own "mock" draft of USC's players, trying to predict when and where Taylor Mays, Damian Williams, Everson Griffen, Charles Brown, Joe McKnight and company will be selected.

It's all football, all the time with these coaches.
