How many college band directors can walk unannounced into a football staff's meeting? At least one, as Dr. Arthur C. Bartner of the Trojan Marching Band barged into the War Room this afternoon to meet and shoot the breeze with the USC coaches, including (from left) Ed Orgeron, Joe Barry and Lane Kiffin. Bartner, who turns 70 this year, is in his 40th year at USC, with Kiffin being the seventh head coach his band will have played for during his tenure.
