News from the Combine: Weekend recap

Half of the NFL Combine groups have wrapped up their workouts, with just the defensive prospects left to be tested today and Tuesday. Check out the notable numbers for the Trojans in this weekend's workouts and other news and notes surrounding the Combine:

  • Joe McKnight had the fifth-best 40 time among running backs with a 4.47.
  • Damian Williams tied for the fourth-best number of reps on the bench press among wideouts with 19.
  • Jeff Byers had the sixth-most bench press reps among offensive linemen, with 33.
  • Anthony McCoy logged the fourth-best vertical jump among tight ends with a 35.5.
  • In other vertical jump test results, Damian Williams jumped 38.0, Joe McKnight jumped 36.5 and Charles Brown jumped 31.5.
  • Williams posted a 6.79 in the three-cone drill, good for eighth among wideouts.
  • McKnight recorded a 10'0" standing broad jump mark.
  • Defensive lineman Everson Griffen, who had 32 bench press reps, is going through on-field workouts today.
  • Defensive backs Taylor Mays, Kevin Thomas and Josh Pinkard are scheduled to go through workouts Tuesday.
