Wideout Robbie Boyer, a walk-on entering his third season at USC, has been working with kicker Joe Houston to hone the holding skills during the offseason, so he appears to be the frontrunner for the position as of now. But the 15 practices during the spring will ultimately decide who will fill the role in the 2010 season.
