Quiet on the set

It's officially the slowest, quietest time of the year for the Trojan football machine.

The recruiting bonanza ended three weeks ago and Spring Practice isn't for more than a month, producing quite the lull in a program that's usually churning at a frenetic pace. February is known as the calmest time on the sports calendar, and it couldn't be truer for the Trojans.

Coaches, who work at least 100-hour weeks during the season, are logging a layman's 40-hour schedule this time of the year, and they spend their time breaking down film, preparing for Spring Practice, making recruiting calls and writing letters to the prospects in the Class of 2011.
