Getting closer to the day

Put away the suitcases -- the grueling recruiting trail has reached an end.

After two-and-a-half weeks of almost nonstop travel, the coaches are back in the office this morning, deprived of sleep but loaded with frequent flier miles. Fresh off an action-packed official visit weekend that saw 12 prospects come to USC, the Trojan football machine now transitions to a quiet hum, as the first four days of the week are an NCAA-mandated "dead period," meaning no face-to-face contact is permitted between coaches and recruits.

The countdown for Signing Day, which is like Christmas morning for the coaches, is now under two days. Or, to be more exact, less than 46 hours remain until the first letter of intent will roll through the office's fax machine. The excitement in Heritage Hall rises with each passing moment.

Ben, can we have a list of the 12 guys who visited? Official and unofficial?

They can't release any names. NCAA rules...

But, other website are reporting it.
