Glad that you guys are happy with your hire, but saddened by what he's done to the vols. I am happy that such classless people are out of the Tennessee program. Good riddance to the Kiffin "admininstration".

Get over it how can you be suprised he left for USC. He told the UT A.D if this job came up he would want it. Sorry Yall maybe jeff foxworthy needs a coaching job.

Remember the guy you guys fired after 17 years as your coach, Phil Fulmer, he's looking for a job.

A VOL FAN's COMMENTS:
I can only speak for myself but believe a lot of good hearted East Tennessee fans probably feel the same way.

Coach Kiffin , I hope that the intensity of the comments by Vol fans will be a testimony to you of the tremendous, positive influence you had on our football program. We are going to miss you and the staff who left with you.

As Pete Carroll said about the NFL job, “This opportunity came along that I can’t pass up”. Most people can understand the USC job being the same for you.

When you first showed up, we weren’t sure if we even liked you. Now, we’re shocked and heart broken simply because we liked you and the staff you put together a lot, especially after we saw what you were able to accomplish in only one season.

Yes, it ended too soon and too quickly, but sometimes life comes at us that way, so:
- Thank you and your staff for all your hard work while at UT

- Thank you for showing us that we had a lot of the right pieces and a few changes in how the puzzle was put together could make such a big difference

- Thank you for inspiration and hope for the future you gave to the Volunteer nation. Now it’s up to the fans and the football team to move on, from where we are... to where we want to be

- Thank you for making the game fun again. I realize college football is a big business – lots of money is involved but it is still a “game”, and games are supposed to be fun.
This past year was exciting and fun for the players and fans at UT !!! We owe that to you, your coaching staff, and the UT football team who gave it their all, playing their hearts out with you.

On a personal note, many Tennessee Volunteers wish only the best for you and your wonderful family. You’ve made a family decision and it’s hard to blame you for “going home”. I hope your family’s time spent in Knoxville, at UT, will include many good memories.

On a professional note, good luck in your new endeavor. I hope USC is #1 every year that you’re there (that is, until you meet UT on a football field in a regular season game or hopefully, playing for the National Championship). At that point, may the best team win.

Thanks again to you, all your coaches #those who stayed at UT as well as those who have moved on), your family, and the UT football team, for all your time and hard work at UT !!!

Respectfully,
David S.
Knoxville, TN

Why don't you leave the post up can't take the truth that you all got a liar for a coach. an a sorry person at that.
GO BIG ORANGE. GO VOL'S

David S. in Knoxville - thank you very much for your very gracious note to our fans and alumni. Lane is coming home, and the circumstances are not ideal for the University of Tennessee. The circumstances around Pete Carroll leaving have not been ideal for USC either. I recognize that the swirling emotions from UT fans underscores how well-liked he has been and just how valued.

Our Tennesse family will be just fine. You can have him. We will get a coach with some class. Not a liar. Love ya VOL'S.GO BIG ORANGE.....
