RipsIt's future

We've received numerous e-mails this week asking about the prospects of the RipsIt Blog now that Coach Lane Kiffin has replaced Pete Carroll. As it is with many other aspects and positions around the program, the Blog's future is uncertain right now but should be settled in the coming days and weeks. We'll keep you posted.

Lane, can not get rid of the blog. one of the reasons i grew to be a bigger fan of the trojans is how open the program is, especially through this website. I mean yes i can find another info on the trojans through other websites, but this website offered pictures, interviews, video, daily updates, I LOVE THAT. so as i plead to coach kiffen, please keep this site and let ben make the daily updates. thank you

Reading this blog is part of my morning routine as a student at USC. Fight On! Keep the blog!

Ben! You are our life-line to what's going on ... the personal touch to our players and their activities, the inside pictures, the official news. We can't get all that any where else, all together with the special feature articles. You do a fantastic job and we rely on our daily visit to keep us up to date and involved. Please let Coach Kiffin know how much we NEED this blog!

OLD alumni, faithful supporters.

The blog must stay!

I will cry if the blog is gone! The pictures are priceless! The behind the scenes view makes all the difference for family and friends of players as well as plain old rabid fans! This is LA! This is our insider scoop! Keep the Blog coach!
The Times, OC Register, etc... don't give us the warm fuzzies and feeling like we are part of the team like the Blog! Keep it going! PLEASE!

This better stick around!

Keep the blog! The name is weird, I won't feel sad at all if you change that...

The Blog has to stay! It's a facet of this program. Coach Kiffin said he wanted to keep as much of the tradition going as possible, and this is a huge part of the on-going tradition!

PLEASE STAY!!

Keep up the blog. It is a valuable and unique tool to give the fans an insider look at the program, and I have immensely enjoyed it over the last few years. I agree that the name has got to go, though.

This is the best blog site ever! My wife hates that I am on it all the time. Ben, all trojans love you for this. Tell Lane this is our life line to the trojans. Fight On!to keep this site!

This site adds so much to the USC experience. Pete was smart as this drew more into the program and made Trojan Football feel like we were on the inside. Ben, I hope both you and Lane will want this great resource to continue.

blog must stay. open practices must stay. since kiffin is from the coach carroll's tree he should know the importance of these things to the program and us, the fans.

ben, the thought of this blog ending makes me very depressed. i truly hope coach kiffin allows you to keep this blog going!! Thanks for all of the wonderful updates!

Not only does this blog keep your fans up to date on all the happenings that are SC Football. It keeps us up to date on the past players that are all over the NFL as well. It is nice to be able to come to one place and get it ALL. Even if Lane decides to get rid of this site, I wanted to give Ben a THANK YOU for what your hard work.

This blog is one of favorite websites, I literally check for updates a few times each day. I love the insider updates and beautiful photos, which give a glimpse of the life of the Trojan football. Keep it please!!!

This blog HAS to stay...rename it if you want but please, please, don't go away. I read it everyday! And yes, please keep the practices open. This is what sets USC apart (among other things).

LANE and BEN, keep the BLOG. WE LOVE IT. I live in Minnesota and I am a USC fan and this blog makes me feel like I am right there on campus with you all, this BLOG is awsome, we have to keep it. Just because our beloved coach Pete is gone doesnt mean we stop "FIGHTING ON". We have our beloved Lane now. I almost feel like its 2003-2006 all over again."FIGHT ON"

This Award-Winning blog is an absolute must read for any USC football fan! I would die a horrible bruin death without it!

Please keep the blog! It keeps me in touch with the latest news, makes me feel like I'm part of the team. Fight on!

Also, I agree, the name could use a change.

Lane please keep the Blog in place...FIGHT ON!

Add me to the legion of USC fans that love the blog! Ben and company due a tremendous job offering a behind the scenes look at the football program. I live in Utah and check it at least a couple of times each day (much to the annoyance of my boss who loves UCLA). Keep up the great work Ben! KEEP THE BLOG!

keep this blog!! i hate all the other usc websites except this one!! i live in tulsa oklahoma. and this blog is the only way i can keep up with the team, i usually miss most of the seasons games cuz they only show big12 games out here, this site is were i go to relive all the games picture updates news player info everything!!! cmon lane, u gotta keep this site!

During busy times, I don't always have time to read every entry--but the fact that you keep previous entries is great! I look forward to reading the blog--it's part of my routine as a USC student. Fight on to keep the blog!

Get the petition rolling! Nothing about this blog should change including the name. The term Rips It goes back almost to the beginning of the Carroll run and Lane was here at that time. Who cares if the Coach has changed it's all about access and the experience for those who are not on campus to feel it. It's as much a part of this football program as the players and coaches so why stop it now. Thank you Ben and staff for a great job.

Ripsit is the best thing of its kind going -- it's informational, inspirational and fun. I've been a fan for 45 years, but never more than since the blog started. KEEP IT!

Ben, I'm sure you know how I feel about USCRIPSIT and it wasn't touted as THE BEST COLLEGE BLOG SITE IN THE COUNTRY for nothing. The fan base that loves to be close to the program will feel disconnected without it. Coach Kiffin is smart enough to know that its the fans that fill the Coliseum. Additionally, we all know this blog is a powerful tool in more ways than just keeping the fans happy. That said, please encourage him to keep it -- and I'm sure hoping you'll still be the one to run it. A loyal fan from Fresno :)

Ben,

Please keep this blog it is great for the SC Fans. It makes you feel closer to the team and keeps a high level of interest.

Great, Great Blog. Very informative and very important to the success of USC's SPORTS. It is one of the best blogs online. KEEP IT GOING.

If Ben goes, I go! Don't leave us! Best blog ever!

Though THE RIPSIT BLOG is a Pete Carroll legacy, we really find this repository of all things SC Football to be a great source of news for us fans.

Hopefully, Coach Kiffin will decide to keep it running, maybe what will change is the name, because, that is Pete Carroll's website. Kiffin will come up with his own mantra in due time.

Whatever happens Ben, this is a great site and thanks for all the hard work you and your staff have done......

Keep it going.
Fight On!

eegad Ben, this is the voice and tenor of Trojan Football, the wonderful pictures of all the road trips, practice and commentary by you.
This is a legacy of Coach Carrolls, like Trojan Walk and Compete Forever and they must be carried forward. Don't even think of Ending this Blog...I can't even imagine having to rely soley on Scott Wolf for football information.

Many Thanks for your diligent and professional efforts in making this the Best USC Football Blog Ever!

Ben, got to keep the blog! It's great for fans and it's a fantastic recruiting tool!

Im a super trojan fan, i see recruiting news on espn.com about the trojans, in addition to that i always stay informed with wearesc.com and uscfootball.com....this blog is just another way i stay informed about the trojans the greatest team in the land...i hope to be using this blog in the future...love this blog and hope it stays, go trojans!

I add my voice to all the others pleading that USCRIPSIT continue just as it is. I have been a reader from its beginning. Ben and his crew continue to improve the information conveyed about USC football. The blog is now my main source of news about Trojan football. Lane, trust Ben, he will be the voice of truth and serve you and the program well. Fight On!

This blog must keep going. It provides a lot of information about the team and those who make this winning machine go. Fight on.

Please let us know what we can do to insure the continuation of USCRIPSIT. As a USC parent, I began to read your blog. I love reading about the Trojans everyday and what is happening at Heritage Hall. It makes me feel closer to the students and the school. As a high school journalism teacher, I really appreciate the quality of the articles that you write. Your articles made me feel better after "those" losses. I enjoy the articles about the inspirational people that happen by Heritage Hall. It would be a dark, sad day for me if USCRIPSIT were to come down. Let us know what we can do for you and your blog.

This blog is the first thing I read everyday. It's the best way to stay connected to the team. It's marketing genius and loved by the fans. Don't go!

We NEED the blog.

Removing the blog is like removing Tommy Trojan from the center of campus. You just don't do it! As a Trojan Alum, please keep the blog.

Please keep the blog........this is where i come to get my info!!!!! I dont trust others LOL

This is the best team blog in the land. Gotta keep the blog, the Twitter, the open practices!

Fight On!!

I love this blog so much, I go to this site first and foremost for all my information about the Trojan team. This blog has fostered and grown my love for football, and I would be so sad to see it go! PLEASE keep the blog Lane and Ben! Fight On forever!

I love this blog. It makes me feel more connected to the program and the team. Please keep it.

Welcome, Lane! Here's one more vote from a 30 year fan and SC alumnus for Rips It to keep on Fighting On! Troy is all about traditions, and this is one "new" one that should remain a Trojan!

I, too, vote to KEEP THE BLOG!

Please!!!

This is my first comment on this site ever. Keep this blog going!

The BLOG must stay!! Blog forever!
Always BLOG!

Bring back PETE CARROLL ASAP! Offer him whatever with Dr. Jerry Buss' help! We need Pete at USC orhwereise we are in real big trouble with Lane. Why did you really leave us Pete? It seems underhanded. Fight on!

Coach Lane: please keep this blog alive; it has been a gem and inspiration for all SC fanatics. Change the blog's name to give it a fresh feel.

Why try to fix something if it ain't broke? Common' coach, keep the blog! Fight On!

You speak for my heart!

i 99.9% of the time love this blog - keep it.

Long live the blog!

Ben, I read it every day and enjoy the inside look through photos. Hope it stays! Fight On! Graduated '89... born a Trojan!

Ben,

This blog is a daily read for me. I can't imagine not having this. I feel sick thinking that the LA Times could be my best source of info on all things SC football. I hope nothing changes. Fight On!

Keep the blog. I live in Ohio and read it everyday. One of the only reasons I am a Trojan fan.

Dear Lane (or as I like to say, "Lil' Kiff"):

Keep Ben and The Ripsit Blog! 'nuff said!

Fight On, Trojans!

I love your blog! I hope that it can stay. I follow the blog using the RSS feeds to stay updated about USC sports.

Keep the Blog Lane...........keep FlashBack football and Rod

We love Ben and the Blog its our link to Trojan Football. Fight On!

The Ripsit blog is the best and most accurate source of information about the USC football team. It is especially great for those of us on the east coast who don't get USC info in our daily news. For us, you provide information not found anywhere else. Keep blogging! Fight On!

The blog has to stay. My grandpa who is a Trojan alum from the John McKay days got a laptop just to read this every day. He will be crushed if this goes away.

The new regime CANNOT get rid of this site. As many others already noted, I visit the site multiple times/day. I've also got all my family and friends using the site. It also is an excellent way to market the team.

This has to continue!!

Not posting all weekend has us worried a bit....but Ben does need SOME days off!
KEEP THE BLOG, this may be the most comments ever (do you know if it is, Ben?)

This blog must stay! I follow TROJAN FOOTBALL year round on this site. Lane, please make this tradition part of your program. Thanks Ben for doing such a great job!

Love the blog! Fight On, Ben and Lane!
