Officially visiting for the final weekend

A whopping 12 prospects in the Class of 2010 will be on campus this weekend for the final official visit of the recruiting year. Signing Day is Wednesday, and with a dead period starting Monday, this weekend is the final face-to-face contact the coaches are permitted to have with recruits. It's an understatement to say the next 48 hours could have a profound impact on the future of the USC football program.

The official visit weekend, hosted by Trojan coaches and support staffers, begins today at 1 p.m., when prospects and their parents arrive on campus for a meet and greet with coaches. Here's a look at what each day entails during the weekend, a similar schedule employed for each official visit this month:

  • Friday: Lunch on campus, academic meetings, Heritage Hall tour, dinner downtown
  • Saturday: Breakfast on campus, campus tour, meetings with coaches, lunch downtown, Coliseum tour, dinner downtown
  • Sunday: Breakfast in Manhattan Beach, depart for airport

When you are on top, everyone tries to bring you down. Come to USC and be a champion. Or, go elsewhere and be an envious loser like the posters above who can only dream about winning championships and having a degree that gives you the keys to the city of Angels. Hard not to feel sorry for the sad commenters above.

More like commenter, singular. Someone is either very angry or very dedicated (or both) and posting these ridiculous comments any chance he gets, under different names of course. Too bad it just doesn't matter.

I personally think we have made the wrong hire.
Look at the combined head coaching experience of our staff:
Ed Orgeron 10-25 Ole Miss
Monte Kiffin 16-17 NC State
Lane Kiffin 5-15 Oakland
Lane Kiffin 7-6 Tennessee

TOTAL - Won 38 Lost 63

Not the direction we need to be heading!

Pretty disappointing surface analysis, Paul. You do realize that Tenn had a losing record pre-Kiff and Ole Miss, NC St and the Raiders were all losing programs before these guys coached there, right? A coach can only do so much with the talent base. Did a little deeper and it is easy to see how much Oakland, Tenn and Miss improved under these coaches.
