Here's a couple of news items that got lost in the shuffle during the past few days:
- Rookie linebacker Clay Matthews has been added to the Pro Bowl roster, making him the second Trojan in the NFL all-star game next to Brian Cushing.
- Offensive lineman Jeff Byers and cornerback Kevin Thomas have accepted invitations to play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 23 in Orlando.
- Defensive end Nick Perry was named to the Football Writers Association of America's Freshman All-America Team.
