0112orgeron.jpgEd Orgeron returns as USC's defensive line coach, the same position he held from 1998 to 2004. Here are the highlights of his coaching history:

  • 2009: Tennessee assistant head coach/recruiting coordinator/defensive line coach
  • 2008: New Orleans Saints defensive line coach
  • 2005-07: Mississippi head coach
  • 1998-2004: USC defensive line coach
  • Coached three first-team All-American defensive linemen at USC: Kenechi Udeze ('03), Shaun Cody ('04) and Mike Patterson ('04)
  • Has 25 years of coaching experience, including four seasons at Miami during the Hurricanes' heydays
  • Coached eight All-American defensive linemen in four seasons at Miami

It looks like PC's coaching team when we won the national championship. One question is Pat Ruel going with PC or will Lane keep him on? I'd love him to stay and keep the continuity on the O-line.

I read something today that Bates is picking his own line coach up there (something about the autonomy he now has) so Ruel might not be going up there and end up staying with us.

This is all 1000% better than I ever thought. With Kif and Kif Sr. and Ed and Chow supposedly coming back, hell we might be better next year and be right back at the top. No diss on PC but man this all looks really good.
